Jay is the one man with ALL that power
The Power remix dropped yesterday. A week late, mind you (see the previous article). There are flashes of Good Kanye on the song, but only flashes. At points when he tries to be great, you see him go to his old bag of tricks.
I.E. becoming a fact-less historian. But I digress…
The point of this entry is to honor the greatness that is Hov. Jay-Z laid down a tremendous verse. One that was more than great. Better than good. It saved this record.
By saved this record, I mean it gives Power a chance it didn’t have before. On the radio, and club side of things, Power never reached epic status. Jay-Z’s verse gives it that shot. The verse can be added in mixshows (as can Kanye’s last verse) but the other stuff on the song was over done.
Kanye may have tried to power up too much, thank God for Jay’s savvy
