Character Analysis : Lupe Fiasco

I’ll be honest. Lupe Fiasco is not my favorite rapper any day of the week. I’ve stood to my theory for a long time that Lupe is overrated in regards to the knowledge he gives. Most times, his lyrics make no sense but because you can’t understand them, you say they are deep.
YEAH RIGHT
Here is text of Lupe in an interview with Complex whenever he was last relevant
No, no, I’m a dummy. I’m Discovery Channel smart, for real. My real learning and education came from my mother and my father, them teaching me to be interested in thinking. My mother would pull me inside, and we would discuss Middle East politics when I was 12, 13.
No shots. I would never disrespect a man’s mother when I don’t know them, but Lupe’s mom was a Chef. Those conversations were similar to going to the barbershop with a bunch of dudes who just watched CNN. Cats reciting what they they think they heard doesn’t make em’ knowledgeable. And as a 12 year old, your comprehension level is questionable.
There have been several shots thrown at Lupe over the past few years from HIS associates. Most recently by producer Prolyphic .
I once was a fan of Lupe. Then I realized, he was scared of failure. People who scared to fail ALWAYS fail.
